The small wedge requires a clearance between the rail/bracket and tower cluster of 0.190" to 0.730". The large wedge requires a clearance between the rail/bracket and tower cluster from 0.680" to 1.200". User instructions: Place the scope in rings or one-piece mounting. Tighten the rings to remove slack, but leave enough loose that the scope can still be rotated by hand. Place the leveling base on the Picatinny rail or one-piece mount directly below the scope's turret cluster. The angled groove should be on the top side. Insert the leveling wedge into the slot on the base from the side until it contacts the bottom of the turret block. Gently press the wedge until the scope rotates and is level. Tighten a scope ring according to the torque specifications of the ring/bracket manufacturer. Remove the optical equalizer. Tighten the second ring according to the torque specifications of the ring/bracket manufacturer. Using the Optic Leveler makes the assumption that the scope's turret cluster and reticle are aligned, which may not be the case with poor quality scopes.
