Beskrivelse
Electret Microphone Amplifier Module MAX4466 Adjustable Gain Low Noise Audio Sensor for Arduino 2PCS
MAX4466 electret microphone amplifier module
Key benefits
Readytouse microphone amplifier with onboard electret capsule. Capture clear audio signals for recording, sensing, or audioreactive projects without soldering a separate microphone.
Adjustable gain from 25x to 125x via a small trimmer pot on the back. Tune sensitivity to match quiet room voice pickup or louder sources.
Low power and rejection ratios provide stable, lownoise operation for embedded systems and audio analysis.
What it does
Provides a conditioned analog audio output on the OUT pin. The output is DC coupled and biased at VCC divided by 2, so the idle voltage will sit at VCC/2.
Designed to feed ADC inputs, audio inputs that accept linelevel signals, or amplifier inputs. Not intended to directly drive speakers or large headphones.
Compatibility and electrical details
Supply voltage: 2.4 V to 5.5 V, compatible with common microcontroller and single board computer power rails.
Package includes two modules.
Presoldered electret microphone with approximate frequency response 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Key performance: power supply rejection ratio 112 dB, common mode rejection ratio 126 dB, AVOL 125 dB into impedance, quiescent current under 24 microamp, gain bandwidth 600 kHz.
Gain range: adjustable from 25x to 125x using onboard trimmer.
Connections and recommended wiring
Power: connect GND to ground and VCC to 2.4 V to 5.5 V.
Audio output: OUT pin provides the audio waveform with a DC bias of VCC/2.
If the target equipment requires ACcoupled audio, place a 100 uF capacitor between OUT and the device input to remove the DC bias.
If connecting to an amplifier with differential inputs or with builtin decoupling capacitors, the external 100 uF cap is not required.
For direct microcontroller ADC use, the OUT pin can be connected directly to the ADC input; no amplifier or decoupling capacitor is .
This module cannot drive speakers. Use an audio amplifier, for example a 3.7 W stereo amp, when connecting speakers or larger headphones.
Why choose this module
Plugandplay with a presoldered microphone makes prototyping faster.
Wide supply voltage and low quiescent current suit batterypowered and embedded applications.
rejection ratios and adjustable gain allow flexible use in noisy environments and precise audio capture.
Simple output biasing makes integration with ADCs straightforward while still allowing easy AC coupling when needed.
Typical applications
Voice sensing and command detection for microcontroller projects, robotics, or appliances.
Audioreactive lighting or visualizers using an FFT driver library to translate audio input into frequency data.
Portable audio sampling and basic recording when paired with an ADC or recording device.
Package contents
Two MAX4466 electret microphone amplifier modules, each with an onboard electret microphone and adjustable gain trimmer.
Notes and practices
Use a 100 uF coupling capacitor when connecting to inputs that cannot accept a DC offset.
Do not attempt to drive passive speakers directly from the OUT pin; use a suitable amplifier between the module and speakers.
For audioreactive projects, use an FFT driver library for frequency analysis to improve responsiveness and accuracy.
